To Install the Bentley OpenUtilities Designer Server
Bentley Utilities Server runs on a single designatBentley Utilities Server, processing jobs from the database. Job programming logic is determined by a set of custom-built DLL files, which must be installed in the same directory as the other Bentley Utilities Server files.
Bentley Utilities Server will install with one or more jobs specifically tailored to your work process. More than likely, some of these jobs will involve a publish operation (Smallworld’s Merge & Post, ArcInfo’s Reconcile, etc.). For Bentley OpenUtilities Designer Server to process these jobs, the GIS must be running on this server whenever Bentley OpenUtilities Designer Server is running. For the same reason, the GIS window on this machine should not be used for any other purpose, or there will be a risk of interference with the Bentley OpenUtilities DesignerServer job. So although Bentley OpenUtilities Designer is installed on this dedicated Bentley OpenUtilities DesignerServer, users should not be performing design work with the Design Assistant on this machine, at least while Bentley OpenUtilities Designer Server is running.
The tables required by Bentley OpenUtilities Designer Server are created with a set of SQL scripts. These tables are populated when the Bentley OpenUtilities Designer tables are loaded (see Loading the Bentley OpenUtilities Designer Tables).
